Fun Farm Weekend
Monday, October 27, 2008
We went to the farm this weekend and had a great time! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Here are some pictures of some of the fun things we did.
Saturday morning started out with a big load of hay

Here is Rolf's Jeep J10 pick-up that he and my dad have been working on restoring. It's been a long project, but we finally moved it to its new home this weekend. It's a great farm vehicle! I need to find a "before" picture....

Getting ready for our first ride!

The big dogs love their new truck!

We also planted the winter garden....YUMMY!!! The vegetable stand (aka the back of my parent's truck) will be open for business in a couple months! We planted mustard greens, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and turnips.

Dad planting the broccoli seed

Molly helping me plant the mustard greens

Mom planting the carrots

Pebbles didn't help plant....she ate a huge squash instead...LOL

After we planted, we fed our catfish. Can you see them? They are like piranhas when you throw the food out. There must've been at least 25 eating at one time. It is so cool! Next time I'll try and film some of the action.

Later that day we did our traditional pumpkin carving

ewwwww......

Pebbles stole the pumpkin lid and we couldn't get it back!

So funny!

"Yeah...I know you're almost done carving the pumpkin but there is no way you're getting this lid back from me."

Pebbles was SO MAD when we had to take the lid away....she jumped up on the bench and was barking at the pumpkin for at least 30 minutes. Poor baby got so upset....LOL

Scary pumpkin at night

After dinner we had our Aggie bonfire

Isn't this cool? Rolf has been waiting to burn this hollowed out log for almost 2 years. There's been a burn ban in effect for so long but this weekend we finally got to see it burn! It was awesome!

And last but certainly not least....the 18 week belly shot. I think Baby S had such a great time at the farm that he/she decided to pop out a little! What do you think?

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Just Between Friends Sale!
Friday, October 17, 2008
Last night my mom and I went to a consignment sale for baby items at one of the local churches and we had a blast! It's called "Just Between Friends" and the quality of "stuff" is amazing. Check out the website: http://www.jbfsale.com/home/
Here's a picture of all of my purchases:
This is a picture of a similar tent:
Okay! It's flat! Now...just "twist it a 1/2 turn..."
We stocked up on all kinds of things! I found some really cute farm themed books and puppets that I'm going to use to decorate the nursery. I also got what seems to be a brand new changing table for an awesome price! (and it's the tallest changing table I've ever seen!) My mom also stocked up and bought as much as I did...LOL
Here's a picture of all of my purchases:
And...you know we can't go ANYWHERE without having an "incident" followed by a laugh attack. We found this really neat little baby "tent" that we thought would be great down at the bay house. It was nicely placed inside it's original bag. Of course we couldn't just look at the picture, we "needed" to take it out and see it.
This is a picture of a similar tent:
We got it out and really liked it, BUT could not for the life of us get it back in the bag. Here are the pictures of my poor mom trying to get this darn thing folded back up. (I was supposed to be helping but I couldn't stop laughing. I'm so glad I captured this moment...it was hilarious) Yes, the pictures are blurry, but you try and have a laugh attack and take pictures at the same time. (all while you're trying to read the instructions to your mom.)
Okay! It's flat! Now...just "twist it a 1/2 turn..."
And....uh! The darn thing went flying and "popped" back up!
This happened over and over before we finally decided this probably wasn't the best investment. We were so generous and left it "on display" for everyone else to see. (That thing can stay out of the bag for the rest of the sale for all we care!)
Baby Update

I went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly check up and everything looked good! The nurse couldn't find the heartbeat at first, but after 10 minutes and two nurses later the little one finally let us know he/she was still in there! (I know this is normal, but sheesh....way to scare this first time mom!) We go back November 13th for the "big" ultrasound!
Weekend Fun
Monday, October 13, 2008
This weekend was very productive! For the first time in a few months I've felt like I actually got a lot done!
Friday I finished my last set of favor boxes. I can't wait to see them on the tables this coming weekend!

My mom and I went to Babies R Us on Saturday to browse and start the registry. Originally I thought I liked this nice rocker/recliner chair....until I sat in it and realized it's not exactly big enough for this giant. Mom and I had a laugh attack in the middle of the store after we took this picture. We like to refer to this as the "mini me" chair. (I swear this fits "normal" sized people!)

Sunday, my mom and I were trying to cut some fleece for a blanket and our dogs were being so bad! They were running all over the material and as soon as we got it all straightened out again, they would come flying through and mess it up. They got "in trouble" and had to wear the Halloween Witch hat (which they both HATE). It was so funny...
Molly:

Pebbles with Molly in the background still mad about having to wear the hat. (Notice they're both still on the blanket...LOL):

And lastly, the 16 week belly shot that looks pretty much like the other shots...haha.

We go back to the doctor this Wednesday, so stay tuned for an update.

Back in the Scrap!
Thursday, October 2, 2008
For those of you that don't know, I LOVE to scrapbook and make crafts. These past few months I haven't felt like doing much, but I feel like I'm getting back in the game!!!

Lately I've been working on some favor boxes for my sister-in-law's wedding. I think they are so cute! (I might be a little partial.)

I have a few Christmas projects going on that I can't share, but I thought I'd share a few pictures of my "scrap buddies" and I at an all day scrap-a-thon the day I found out I was pregnant!
