Knee Boarding
Wednesday, June 27, 2018
Earlier in the summer Tyler was begging to go knee boarding again. The first time he got up on the knee board was last summer and I was next to him helping him up (on my own board..ahhh!). He thought he might be able to do it on his own this year so we gave it a try and HE DID IT!! I was so proud of him!
It's so much fun seeing your kid do something that you loved to do as a kid. We used to spend all day being pulled behind the boat knee boarding and skiing- awesome memories!
After knee boarding Tyler wanted to get Hailey on the tube with him. I wasn't sure how she would do but she LOVED it!
These two squealed and laughed all the way down the creek.

Hippo Pool
Monday, June 25, 2018
As with most of our creek toys, the Hippo pool has been around for a long time and it's still a favorite! The head and tail no longer inflate but the kids still love it! Hailey is also loving "gecko."
We love summertime at the creek!!
Big boy, little pool. Cracks me up!
Run and jump!
This past weekend the wind was so strong that it picked the hippo pool up and sent it across the creek. My dad went and retrieved it for us because we just can't let it go!
Summer is flying!

Summer is here and it's flying by! It seems that we haven't stopped running since the last day of school. It's all good things keeping us running but it's been busy! In an attempt to play catch-up, here is how we rounded out our days in May before Tyler's awesome week at Pine Cove.
Little sister dress up, big brother bunny ears.
Creek time and loving Tyler's old water table!
My little entrepreneur selling his homemade comics one evening. He came home determined that he would sell these comics and to my surprise, several people stopped AND bought!
Ice chest- check, bumbo- check, new favorite seat- check!
Still have our "baba" and I totally don't care! The pediatrician got on to me during her 3 year visit but whatever, she won't go to kindergarten with it and she'll need braces no matter what! The time will come.
Sometimes I think we just shouldn't push our luck but Rolf was determined to cut those very high, hard to reach palm limbs. Sigh...
Tyler was fired up that Daddy let him pull the jetski over to the boat launch with the Ranger. That's big boy stuff right there!
Creek fun!
Sweet smiles!
Tyler got to unload the jetski by himself- it was a BIG day!
Dad and his new toy.
My kids doing..... well, I'm not really sure. Ha!
Mother's Day boat ride!
For the first time in years, we jumped out on the beach and hunted shells. It was so much fun!
I found this picture of Tyler showing Hailey how to take care of her new baby she got for her birthday. So sweet.
First swim of the season in the "big" pool!
Goggles on toddlers crack me up!
I can hardly remember what day in May this was but we had the privilege of being included in the grand opening of Pine Cove's high school camp, The Ridge. Rolf and his team have worked hard on this project for years, so to see if come together was just awesome!! We attended a breakfast and then were positioned on the balcony to watch all of the counselors from all 3 camps gather around the pool for a special welcome. It was so neat!
Counselors all around!
Rolf completes some pretty neat jobs in his line of work but I think Pine Cove rates at the top. The actual construction is beautiful and the people he (we) have met along the way make it such a special job. I was so happy to be included in the grand opening.
The very next day Kirsten and I started on a huge service project for our company. Our summer ice cream social included making no sew blankets for the Star of Hope. All of our little girl dreams came true when we got to use the Hobby Lobby fabric cutting tables to cut 264 yards of flannel into 2 yard increments!
Trip number 1!
Dorks- ha!
This is just half of the fleece! We came back the next day with the second load. It was so much fun and we met so many people wondering what the heck we were doing. It's awesome when your two worlds collide!
Another pair of goggles, another night!
Strong girl!
We came home from the creek one Sunday and Hailey was surprised with a kitchen from Mikayla! This was M's when she was a little girl and it's so much fun to have in our house now!
When Ms. A's daughter has her baby early/unexpectedly, you have to be at work and you don't have a sitter, Hailey gets a special treat at Junie's house until NaNee can get there! It takes a village folks!
I took this picture on the way to the creek one Friday evening. My morning devotional was about letting your light shine and then I saw this....... it was such a powerful moment and a good reminder to look up even amongst the rushing around!
A few shirts for friends!
Lastly, another picture in the series we like to refer to as "I'm not going to fall asleep on the couch tonight."
May was good but it wore me out!!
