Happy New Year!!

Christmas Morning!

We had a wonderful Christmas! Tons of pictures to come.....when I can find my camera cord amongst the Christmas bomb that went off in our house. ;)

First Row, Baby!

My Mom and I love to go see musicals and when we went to see "9-5" we noticed that a show called "Burn The Floor, Ballroom Reinvented" was coming to town. You know how much we love DWTS so I called the next day and ordered our tickets. There weren't any tickets available for center orchestra (where we normally try to sit) but ticketmaster told me there was "Pit" seating available. I really had no idea what that meant but based on the ticket price and the ladies' excitement on the other line, I purchased them immediately. I thought we would be in the 2nd or 3rd row. When we got to the theater, the lady told us that we were FRONT ROW, CENTER. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently these tickets are never available to the public since everyone around us were longtime season ticket holders and were shocked to find out that we weren't. Ha! Lucky us!

Even better? Mark Ballas was the "special guest" for the Houston shows! I love me some MB (yes, Rolf is VERY aware of my obsession...LOL!) so you can imagine our excitement.

Here Mom and I are enjoying our front row seats!

My leg could touch the stage! eeeek!

(I got in trouble for taking these pictures and almost had my camera taken away....oops. It was before the show even started so I have no idea what the problem was...ugh!)

It was a fantastic show and I would go again in a heartbeat. Mark winked at Mom and I (or so we like to think). Love, love, loved it!

....................back to reality......................

Toddler book update: Some of T-man's newest words. :)

Chee-toh (tee-toe)

Rice (Ice)
Ah ning (ice cream)
Ah-ma (Oma)
Ah-pa (Opa)

Leaves

You would think "kid playing in leaves" pictures would be posted in October/November. Not in Texas! Our trees have just started shedding their leaves within the last three weeks. We have a lot of big trees on our lot and Tyler thought it was super cool to run through the piles. So, here are our Christmastime leaf pictures. ;)

Waist deep in leaves!

Look who else thought the leaves were cool...
I found Bailey curled up in the pile of leaves when I got up one Saturday morning. It was so cute!

Yesterday was the first day of winter and it was 82 degrees....typical Texas weather!

6th Haircut

Well.........
Haircut - Tractor = big fat fail.

Rolf wasn't home and I couldn't get the tractor out of the garage by myself (it's wedged between way too many "man things") so we opted for the tricycle and a peppermint stick. It worked for a little bit....

You can see his eyes filling with tears.....

And then he lost it.....

Poor thing. It was pitiful and so sad! Next time we're getting the tractor out.

This morning Tyler's crazy hair was back!

I don't know what it is about haircuts that he doesn't like! I guess 1 out of 6 successful, non-crying cuts are okay.

"Ho Ho"

aka Santa ;)

I thought Santa might be a disaster this year but to my surprise it wasn't!! Tyler wasn't crazy about him but he didn't cry. Yay! These pictures are from the Liederkrantz Christmas Party.

Checking the big fella out....

I thought we might see some tears at this point...

He didn't even care what Santa had to offer in his sack.....ha!

Tyler finally sat back, posed for Mommy and then got the heck out of there!

Santa experience 2010= success!!!

Pacifier Twins?

My Mom has had this picture on her Christmas tree (in a cute little stocking ornament) for as long as I can remember....... (Christmas 1983...I was Tyler's same age. Well, minus 3 weeks.)

Are we paci twins or what?!!

Okay, not exactly twins but I think there is some definite resemblance in our eyes. :) We both love our pacis and I think I loved mine until I was 3. ;)

I have four sheets of paper/sticky notes of updates about my little man sitting on my desk. So, here we go!
  • Tyler likes to tell us when he's done doing something. Most of the time it's when he's eating. He'll say, "Dom, Dom."
  • The other night Rolf asked Tyler to give him a high five. He quickly ran over to me so we could high five and then ran to Molly trying to get her to do it too. It was so funny!
  • We DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT have a ball player on our hands. Tyler definitely has his Mommy and Daddy's sports genes. Okay, okay....Rolf was good at Soccer and I was fair at volleyball but when it comes to actually throwing balls, all 3 of us aren't too good. We sit around at night laughing so hard at Tyler throwing the ball. His "form" is awesome but then he goes to throw the ball and it doesn't go anywhere. In fact, it usually just hits him on the top of the head. LOL!
  • A few weeks ago my Dad and Rolf were hunting in Kansas. Tyler asked for each of them numerous times a day. We told him (numerous times a day) that they were hunting. Of course he doesn't understand this so we told him "boom boom." That worked and he told us for the rest of the week, "Dah-Dah BOOM BOOM" and "Boppy BOOM BOOM." (Poppy=Boppy)
  • Some other sentences: "I Boppy" (meaning that he knows we're going to Poppy's house to get ice.) "Night Night....insert name here"
  • "Ah-Bull"- Apple
  • "Hawt"- Hat. Ask me how long it took me to figure that one out?! I thought he was saying "hot" so I would take his hat off and then he would get mad. I put his hat back on and then he would tell me he was hot again. Finally it dawned on me...............
  • "Ba-pa"- Paci. When he says this he curls his lips over his teeth and looks like a little old man with dentures. Does it every time! LOL!
  • Tyler blows kisses now! Funny thing is....he actually "blew" them at first but now he kisses his hand and then slides it down his mouth/chin. Blowing himself a kiss I guess. :)
  • We've successfully gotten "pweas" down and now I'm working on thank you. I say "thank you" and he replies "YOU!." Love it!
  • You heard him say "choo choo" and "baby" in the Christmas tree video. :)
  • Tyler likes to go pee in the bathtub, look at me with the biggest grin and say "TeeTee!" Oh boy! (pun intended)
  • The other week Tyler had a limp. A pretty bad limp too! It took me a few days before I realized what happened. I rounded the corner to his room and he was climbing on his shelving. He dropped to the ground when I told him "no" and I saw him roll his foot/ankle. ugh!
  • I told Tyler that we needed to get dressed so we could go outside. I finished a few things in my room before heading to his room and when I walked in he had climbed on the changing table and was waiting for me. Eeeeeek!
  • I lost my keys a couple weeks ago. Well, I didn't really lose them....someone helped me. Have you ever tried to ask a 20 month old where your keys are? Save your time....they're no help! It took me a few hours but I finally remembered that he was playing in the office that night (while I was on the computer and not paying attention to him). He had stuffed my keys at the bottom of the dog toy box. At least they weren't in the trash!

Whew! I had a lot of lazy baby book updates today!

Liederkrantz Christmas Party

Sunday afternoon we went to Oma and Opa's German Club's Christmas Party. We had so much fun!!

Whelp folks, this is how the party started.....before we even left the house.

Poor little guy DID NOT want to get in the truck nor take a picture.

Tyler had a death grip on my legs when we first got to the German club....

Tyler and his Oma :)

There's Opa singing!!! (You can barely see his head peaking over the man in the green sweater's shoulder)

Tyler loosened up after he saw Opa performing! Don't you just love his Christmas outfit?!

Tyler and I participated in the children's portion of the program and it was so sweet.

Tyler wanted me to eat the jingle bell. No thanks buddy :)

Tyler was over the song long before it was over but I was still into it. :)

See ya! (He spotted Opa and took off)

Soon after.....Santa appeared!!!!!

I thought Tyler would be frightened of Santa but he stood in awe of the jolly ol' fella. ;)

Every child received a present from Santa. Here are Tyler and Opa on their way to see Santa.

He grabbed his present and ran! Ha! We do have pictures with Santa but those deserve their own post. ;)

His excitement was priceless!

Open, open, open!

Santa sure knows how to pick out a toy that this boy loves! (You should have heard the belly laughing going on when we got home and the truck was flying through the living room!)

This picture cracks me up. Opa took Tyler to the cookie counter and bought him an assortment of cookies. Tyler had a bite of each one and then dropped the plate on the ground. I thought he was going to cry but he quickly jumped out of my lap, grabbed Opa's hand and made him stand up.....then he promptly led him back to the cookie counter for another plate. It was hilarious!!!!!!!!

Here they are coming back from the cookie counter for the second time. Little stinker sure knows how to get what he wants from his grandparents!

Tyler thought the little boys on his right were playing with him. When they took off he chased after them and was squealing at the top of his lungs. It was so cute!

So happy!

Merry Christmas!!!

Thank you Oma and Opa for a great time!
