18 Months
I think little kid shoes are the cutest!

Riding his tricycle. (more like walking rather than riding but he's learning!)

Walker

These pictures are from July. (I forgot to blog them) This was the first time he had gotten into the walker by himself and it caught us all off guard....which made it even funnier! Why would you want to be "restrained" when you don't have to?! lol. (I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that the walker makes louder noises and does more damage when you crash into things.)

This cannot be comfortable! ha!

Boom! (The next two pictures are sideways and I have no idea why...I uploaded them five times and they turn themselves in the process. grrrr!)

Walkers are even good for resting

You might also remember how much fun THIS was! (those videos still crack me up!)
Creek and Farm
We left Friday night for the creek and were excited to spend some time down there since T and I hadn't been down since Memorial Day. Where did the summer go? Wouldn't you know, it started raining on our way and never stopped. We stayed Friday night, watched the radar Saturday morning and the "30% chance" of rain had all of a sudden changed to "showers likely all day" in our area. Lovely! So, we packed it up and headed to the farm! (Where it still continued to rain all weekend but there's more to do there when it rains.)
This is the only picture I have of Tyler at the creek. He had fun with his race car that he hadn't seen in awhile. :) I love his jammies too!

We're at the farm! Tyler was beyond thrilled when I pulled him out of his car seat and he saw that we were at the farm.

Priorities

The "WoWee" ride he had been waiting for since last weekend....
DWTS is back!!
The DWTS premiere was last night and that means Monday night dinner and watching has commenced at my Mom's house...yay! We always have so much fun, even the men get into it...I'm sure it has nothing to do with the outfits, or lack thereof, that the women wear. ;) Tyler does his fair share of entertaining as well! I took some video of him last night to compare to last year at one of our DWTS parties.....it amazes me what a difference a year makes!
Baby Book Updates
- First things first, I almost feel like I should call this the "toddler book" update instead of "baby book" because the little man is growing so fast! It's as if he learns several new things a day. I'm trying my hardest to keep up with everything. Right now I have 5-6 sticky notes of things I've jotted down in the last several weeks....I'm finally finding time to write them down!
- Tyler is French. Well, only when he says "Mommy." It sounds more like "Ma-Mey" with a strong emphasis on the "Mey" part. All of the German influence and we have a French accent?! It's really cute and of course I love hearing him say "Ma-Mey!"
- He is very concerned about the dogs being fed. Every evening when we get home he runs into the bathroom to make sure Molly has food. If she doesn't then he'll carry the bowl into the kitchen, drop it at the pantry door and demand that she be fed. All the while repeating, "doggie, doggie, doggie" until you open the cabinet. He'll do the same thing if we're outside and he sees that Bailey's bowl doesn't have any food. He loves his dogs!
- Speaking of dogs.....Molly has been receiving quite the royal treatment in the cookie department. Tyler discovered the cookies in the bathroom cabinet and helps himself (yes, he's eaten them too) and Molly to them any time he wants. I've since had to lock them in the pantry with the dog food....little stinker!
- Tyler loves the 4-wheeler. Rolf had it home for several weeks and every night Tyler would demand a "ride" on the "WoWee." He got so excited when Rolf turned it on one night and gave him a ride down the driveway. He was screaming "BYE BYE BYE" and waving with excitement. So cute!!
- Tyler knows Duck (and points to them on the wall at my parent's house and the farm), Cow ("Mmmmmmmm" which used to be "Maaaaaaa"), and Chicken ("chick, chick, chick")
- He loves to make a fish face and move his lips up and down at the same time. We call it fishy kisses and it's hilarious! He'll do it to anyone too!
- Anytime he's attempting to run fast he flaps his chicken wing....always always always has the chicken wing swingin'. It must help him go faster......
- He loves books! His two favorite books right now are Little People Peek-a-boo farm and another farm book that he can carry with the built-in handle.
- The other night Tyler brought me a nursery rhyme book to read. I felt compelled to sing the nursery rhyme for some reason and when I did Tyler started dancing! It was so funny! I have a terrible voice but T-man didn't care....lol!
- Tyler loves keys. (or "geees" as he says) We have to put ours keys on the bar instead of the table now because he'll climb up there and get them. We have given him his own set to use in the car and he has a few that he hangs on the key ring by our backdoor too. He's so funny with his geees.
- He says "ice" or "iee" anytime he sees an ice chest.
Now for some gross and/or typical boy things:
- He laughs anytime someone burps, including himself. This is going to be such a hard habit to break...how do you not laugh at him when he does this?! I guess the day he does this at a nice event will be the day it's not so funny.
- I put powder on Tyler every night, including in his diaper. He likes to reach down, grab some powder, eat it and then spit it.....lovely.
- We've had two more bloody incidents. Both of them were within 40 minutes of Tyler and I getting home from work/school. The first bloody incident was after he grabbed a picture frame from the nightstand, took it apart and cut his finger. I didn't even notice until I saw the dried blood that had run down his hand...mother of the year. The second incident happened when Tyler was putting his "gees" in the door. We had been playing outside and I stepped inside for one minute. He was playing at the door and tried to shut it. The metal strip at the bottom of the door ran over his toe and lifted the skin on one of his baby toes. I know it hurt baaaaaaaad. Poor baby.
I think that's all the updates I have for now! Here's a picture of my "baby" and I after bath the other night. I still like to pick him up like a sack of potatoes all cuddled up in his towel. :)
We did the "tour of Texas" this weekend visiting both the creek and farm. Lots of fun pictures to come!
Grapeland
Last weekend we went with a bunch of friends to another friend's place. It was fun! Tyler was everywhere and had a blast. Enjoy the pictures!
