Friday Phone Dump

TGIF!!  I have quite a few pictures from my phone over the past month!

I'm starting this post with one of my favorites.  I walked into the bathroom to see Tyler brushing his teeth with his new swim goggles on.  I asked him what he was doing and he informed me that when he rinses his mouth out he gets water in his eyes.  ha!  I think he just wanted a reason to wear the new goggles.  :)

Backing up to December..... Tyler had his first ever Kay Blue Ranch trip with the men and had a blast.  He was in Heaven!  I grew up going to this ranch so it was fun seeing him do everything that I used to do.  He loved riding "on top of ol' big."

He also liked seeing "dos catalinas" (aka javelinas)

Happy New Year!  We went to Pappasitos on NYE and the restaurant passed out hats.  We had a great time!  Home and in bed before 10:30....party animals.

We went to the boat show in early January.  Tyler had to drive almost every boat at the show.

Tyler likes lots of motors.

He found sister's new crib...

...and a super cool riding toy!

Tyler spent MLK day with NaNee and Poppy.  He had a great time and was a sweaty mess by the end of the day!

No matter how old Tyler gets he still loves to ride this toddler car!

"Gonna throw dem oranges in da bayou."

A fun play date with David and Katie before they headed back to VA!

Rolf has been missing his pocket knife for weekS and Tyler found it under the recliner one morning.  He was SO happy!  We had to text daddy right away!

Here's a little story about kindergarten homework.  *sigh*  I've been sending one worksheet a day to after-school care so Tyler will do his work before nighttime.  One day last week they were supposed to write a How-To story with pictures.  I was looking through his folder when we got in the car and noticed the pages below.....
Me to T: Tyler you didn't do your homework today
T: yes I did!
Me: well then why is everything blank except the first page?
T: you see that person, that's me and that sentence says Tyler didn't do anything.  I didn't do anything....that's my how-to.
Me: silence............
Needless to say I made him re-do the worksheet and he wrote about driving the Kubota but geez louise!!!

Lastly, a Tyler funny.
Tyler told me the other night that he didn't want to go to college.  I was thinking maybe it's because he doesn't want to leave home so I encouraged him that he can stay home and still go to college.  Nope, not it.  Then I told him that he really wants to get a good education so he can make a good living and buy nice things.  He thinks for a little bit and says, "Mom, I want to go to the same college as NaNee because she doesn't work!"  HA!  Ummm.  I quickly informed him that NaNee worked for 30 years before he came along and she did in fact go to college.  So funny how kids think sometimes!

Little Hunter

Tyler had an all man weekend at the farm and had a blast, of course!

Friday night he went to the Halletsville Big Buck contest where he helped Poppy "win dat credit card for 3rd place!"

"Mom, I was really gettin' muddy at Mr. Paul's house."

I think the highlight of the weekend was the dove hunt Saturday night!

Tyler with his new buddy, Luke.

Sunday morning the men went duck hunting.  Look closely at this picture......Tyler has his play gun ready to "shoot dem birds"  So cute!

Our big hunter boy!

Just for fun....our little hunter at 2.5 years old.  Where does the time go?!

Tyler made sure to bring me a treasure from the weekend..... a dove head in a Ziploc bag.  "Mom, we snapped dos heads off and I saved one for you!"  Oh good!  I threatened him if that bird head ends up inside our house somehow!!

I shouldn't be surprised he saved the head....I once saved two baby deer that we found inside a momma deer one year.  I saved those babies in a Ziploc bag in my parent's freezer for years.  No idea why!  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

23 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 23 weeks, 2 days

How big is baby: Papaya (still 8in and just over a pound now!)

Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Still no cravings or aversions, just food.  Big girl requires a lot of food...

Symptoms: One word: heartburn.  Darn you heartburn!!!  You would think taking 3 zantac a day for stomach acid would help heartburn (2 a day totally did with Tyler) but nope!  Oh well.  Other than that I still seem to be in the honeymoon phase, yay!

Sleep: Good but I've been having some weird dreams!  They're all high adrenaline and I usually wake up exhausted from running so much in my sleep.  Strange.

Gender: It's a GIRL!!!

Movement: Yes!  Quite a bit of movement, mostly in the evenings.  Still nothing big enough to feel from the outside.

Labor signs: Too early.  Let's keep it that way!

The belly: The bump has arrived!  Some days I feel like sister goes back into hiding and some days she's really pronounced.  She still has quite a bit of room to flip around at this point, I think.

Belly button- in or out: Halfie all the way.

Best moment this week: Getting some exercise outside now that the weather is nice!  (for this week anyways)

What I miss: Not much...so happy to say that!

What I am looking forward to: Dr. appointment this coming Wednesday.  It should be an uneventful appointment if all goes well but I do look forward to hearing how things are going.

Milestones: My pregnancy app tells me there are about 16 weeks left until big girl arrives.  What?!

What I'm loving: I'm gonna have to go with the same answer from last week....maternity pants.  Seriously so comfortable.  ha!

Worries: Thankfully this week I haven't been worrying about much.

What's different this time: Heartburn has been a lot worse this week than it was with Tyler.  We'll see what the next few weeks bring.

Final thoughts: This isn't pregnancy related but we're getting new couches today!!!  I'm so happy!

Big Brother Tyler:

While laying in bed with Tyler one night he reaches over and touches my boob.  "MOM, sister is really sticking out!"  Ummm sweetie, that's my boob.  "Ew"

"Mom, you have a big belly now!"  Then Tyler kisses sister completely unprompted.  So sweet!!

Now for the 23 week (how did that happen?!) belly bump pictures.  My picture partner decided to re-join me this week!

Lastly, a completely unreasonable purchase I couldn't resist this week......Vera Bradley bathing suit.  I know sister won't be swimming this summer but it's worth the $10 (love the outlet!) for a photo op anyways.  So cute!  This is the first piece of baby girl clothing I've bought!

Farm Fun

We finally had a sunny weekend for the first time in what feels like a month!  We went to the farm and soaked up the sun!

Saturday we went into town to watch a little bit of the tractor pull competition.  Tyler liked looking at all of the old tractors.

Pink tractor for sister.

"Santa" was the first tractor out of the gate.  He was riding his hot rod tractor!

Redneck ear plugs.

We stayed about an hour, ate in town then headed back to the farm for some duck hunting.  Tyler is SO serious about hunting..it cracks me up!

2 big and 1 little duck hunters.  Too cute!

They shot 3 ducks!  One was easy to reach in the pond.

The other 2....not so much!  Since we don't have a retriever the men had to get creative with long sticks....

Rolf to my dad: "hold my hand"
My dad to Rolf: "Are you sh*tten' me?!"
HAHAHA!

When that approach didn't work we went back to the house and got the cast net.  That definitely worked!

Ducks and silly boy.

A little 4-wheeler riding.

My big 4-wheeler riding boy.  "Mom, did you see me burn dos tires off?!"

22 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 22 weeks, 2 days

How big is baby: Spaghetti Squash (8in and sister should weigh around 1 lb now!)

Diet/Cravings/Aversions: No aversions (TG!) and no real cravings but as long as sister gets fed a hearty portion she is a happy girl.

Symptoms: *whispers*  honeymoon phase?!!  Other than some intense stretching in my uterus/stomach/ligament pain, I feel like this is the honeymoon period I felt with Tyler (just a month later!).  Yay!!!  I had a killer headache on Sunday but I think it had more to do with not drinking enough water the day before than anything.

Sleep: Good!  Waking to tinkle 2-3 times.

Gender: It's a GIRL!!!

Movement: Yes!  Most movement has been low but this week I started to feel some higher pokes.  Occasionally I've also felt sister really low....way too low if you know what I mean and instinctively it makes me cross my legs.  Whoa sister, let's not go down there just yet!

Labor signs: Too early.  Let's keep it that way!

The belly: The bump has arrived!

Belly button- in or out: Halfie all the way.

Best moment this week: Receiving some hand me down girl clothes from a neighbor and friend at work.  Ahhh...so fun!

What I miss: Not much...so happy to say that!

What I am looking forward to: Enjoying the honeymoon phase while it lasts!

Milestones: We have officially entered the 6th month.....whoa!

What I'm loving: Maternity pants.  Seriously so comfortable.  ha!

Worries: Thankfully this week I haven't been worrying about much.

What's different this time: This week I didn't feel too different than I did at this stage with Tyler.

Final thoughts: We are still working on a name for sister but Rolf has taken to calling her "big girl" since she requires an insane amount of food or she'll make me sick.  He tells me that sister is tired of lettuce and wants some fried chicken.  Ummm she can eat that when she's on the outside...no way will you catch me eating fried chicken! The bet is on whether she'll be bigger than Tyler at birth.  Please no!

Big Brother Tyler: During math night at school someone asked Tyler if he's ready to be a big brother and how exciting that he's going to have a little sister.  Tyler, in true 50 year old little man fashion replies "Yeah, me and my dad...we haven't figured that out yet."  (the other mom couldn't figure out what he was saying.....he meant they haven't figured out having another girl in the house just yet)

The next night on the way home from daycare Tyler randomly says "Mom, I am kind of getting excited!"  Oh really, about what?  "Having a sister!"  SO sweet!

Friday night we were loaded to the max on the way to the farm.  Tyler looks around and asked where we'll put sister.  He thinks for a minute and then says "I know.  We can get some straps, string them through the windows and put her car seat on the roof.  I'll leave the back window open so I can talk to her."  ha!  ummm we're gonna have to come up with a better plan than that!

22 week bump shot!  Rockin' the work maternity pants for the first time today!

Tyler Funnies

It's been awhile since I've written down some Tyler funnies from the last few months.

...but first a few pictures of our little camo man.  :)

Just another school day in his camo hat (and camo pants that you can't see).

These coveralls have been passed down through MANY kids and it's Tyler's turn.  They are so cute!

Pop a wheelie

Rolf sent me a text with the caption "the boy needs camo boots"

Tyler funnies:
  • Mom, today I went to the nurse because my lips were cracking.  She put some gasoline on them for me.  (omg...ha!)
  • (While at the farm with Poppy and Rolf)  Last night I woke up and thought someone was taking the white truck (my dad's old loud diesel) but then I sat there for a minute and figured out it was just Pop snoring.
  • (while driving home one night)  Rolf- I'm tired and going to bed Tyler- no dad, you'll get a ticket if you sleep while you drive.
  • (while eating fruit snacks in the car)  Me- Yum, those smell good.  Tyler- yep, better than a rotten sock!
  • My legs are out of gas
  • Can we get another dog?  Why do we have to wait until I'm 7?  I already know how to take care of a coyote.  (oh really?!  ha!)
  • We did the opossum stomp at western day.  (I have yet to figure out what song/dance he is talking about.  lol!  He wants to do the dance at home and let me tell you....google/you tube don't have a clue either!)
  • Mom, I can't go to school today.  I've got a lot of things I need to get done around the house.
  • Dad, I need to take one of your big ladders to daycare next week.  Cooper's frog is stuck on the ceiling and I need to use the ladder to climb up there and get it.  Mom, you and me can carry it in and I'll climb up there then you can carry the ladder back to the car.
(daycare teacher to me one night)  All the girls are just smitten with Tyler.  The 5th graders beg him to sit in the back of the bus and fight over who gets to sit with him.  (oh gosh, SO not ready for that!)
