Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving! There is definitely a lot to be thankful for this year and I was happy to have 12 people at our house to celebrate the day!

Here is my simple table. I didn't feel like going all out this year but I think it turned out nicely. :)

This is what the little man thought of having to wait an hour later to each lunch....ha!

Great Grommy and Auntie V

Tyler didn't care for the mashed potatoes (hence the face). Crazy boy!

Tyler and his 3 grandmas! Lucky boy!

Daddy, 2 grandpas and uncle Bernie

Chow time!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

Bye Bye Baby Stuff!

Last Saturday I was home all alone (really weird feeling by the way) and had a cleaning frenzy! I've put a few of Tyler's baby items in the attic before now but the majority of it was still shoved in his closets. Here is the pile of baby madness before it went in the attic. Crazy how one tiny person can accumulate so much stuff!!

Rolf took this picture with his phone because he said I looked like I was visiting a third world country. Well, technically the attic could be classified in that category if you ask me because it's so dusty and dirty! I've also been sick and don't need to get worse!

It feels good to have everything cleaned out and ready for Christmas and the New Year. It was also fun going through Tyler's tiny clothes...they grow so fast!

Here are a few pictures of my big boy playing in his room Sunday afternoon. He was at the farm with my parents and my dad joked that he was coming off of a "wowee hangover" because he was obsessed with the machines more than ever that weekend. Ha!

Brrrrrr

I think it's fun to watch Tyler play when he thinks nobody is watching. Their little imaginations are amazing! Here he is playing and talking to his kitchen Sunday night.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Mariachi!

Here is my sweet boy gettin' down to the Mariachi Band last night!

I love it!!

Doggy Hide-n-Seek

First, Tyler captures Molly's ball and then goes to hide...

Then it's time to hide until Molly finds him..... It doesn't take long and he's cracking up! Love the belly laughing!

Here's a random video of Tyler playing ball last night too.

The other night I was throwing the ball down the hall for Molly. Tyler thought he needed in on the action too so he went and grabbed himself his own tennis ball. Both of them were playing fetch and it was hilarious! Tyler would take off running as fast as he could SCREAMING and laughing until he got to his ball at the end of the hall. I wish I would have had my camera!!

Sentences

Tyler has been jibber jabbering for a very long time now but just recently we've started to be able to understand some of his sentences. It kind of freaks me out hearing more than one word at a time that actually makes sense! I love it! Here are his most recent sentences:
  • "Eat Doggy" which sounds more like "it doggy." This started on Friday night when we were sitting on the couch together. He was asking me where the dog was and I told him she was eating, to which he replied "it doggy." It was so cute! I put him to bed shortly thereafter and I heard him over the monitor repeating this to himself until he fell asleep. He loves his dogs! Just this week he has started to say "it Dah Dah" as well. :)
  • "Bye Bye Doggy" which sounds more like "Dye Dye Doggy." He tells Molly this every morning. He also tells his balls bye.
  • "Num Num" which means yum yum. Tyler says this in a VERY excited, almost squealing voice.
  • "NaNee (pause pause pause) Key" which sounds like "kkkkeeee" in a very deep voice.

Sentences are fun!

Another funny from last time we were at the farm. Well, I'm not sure if I can classify this as funny or scary...ha! Tyler has learned how to escape from his portable crib. Ms. Andrea had warned me of this at school but he had never done it at the farm so I figured he was just too wiped out at the farm to try and get out. Ha! That's what a Momma gets for thinking, right? Sunday morning I woke up to a loud "boom." It was my child hitting the floor! (keep in mind our house has tile there) Talk about getting startled! Luckily Tyler was fine and was probably more scared of me rushing over to him than he was about falling out of bed. Let the journey begin..... I'm soooo not ready for a toddler bed at home so let's just hope he doesn't figure out how to escape his crib there. I guess they always have those tents that I can buy for the top and "trap" him in there. eeeekk!

Here is a picture of my little man pretending to be Mommy. He loves to wear my shoes!

My Mom and I went to see the musical "9-5" last night. It was beyond good!!! Hilarious too! If it's coming to your town go see it!!! Fantastic!

Mikayla turns 5!

Saturday morning Tyler and I went to Mikayla's 5th birthday party and it was so much fun!

Tyler cracks me up. He's not really into the party places, jumping, sliding, etc. like you would think. He is very reserved and mostly sits back to watch. My Mom says this is how I was when I was little so I guess it's not really a surprise...just funny because he's soooo active at home! He literally freezes up when we get to a party. Here is a picture of my little guy in the "holding area" looking really excited to be there. lol!

Mikayla checking out the place! (Love her dress!)

This is what Tyler thought of the place.....

Finally he found some balls so he was a happy camper.

The mega slide! So fun! Here are Kirsten, Mikayla and Jessica's niece Ashlynn sliding down!

Tyler and I! The slide was a lot of fun....Tyler didn't think it was fun AT ALL and practically cried when we got to the bottom. Later in the party he was walking by the mega slide, pointed and said "NO!" HA!

Back to the balls

This was near the end of the playing part of the party....Tyler had had enough. Poor guy....one of the teenagers running the party tried to play frisbee with him and he threw himself down and was "hiding" against the rock wall. Oh boy!

Kirsten's awesome Cinderella cake!!!

This is more Tyler's speed!

Happy Birthday, Mikayla!
I cannot believe Mikayla is five! Kirsten and I started carpooling before her first birthday...time flies!

Tyler and Abby

Tyler LOVES his dogs, especially my mom's dog Abby. She spent the weekend at our house a few weekends back and Tyler was in heaven. He followed her everywhere and kept saying "heyyy doggy" in his high pitched, talking like Mommy voice. It was too cute! I was doing some scrapping at my table and turned around to find those two looking out the window together. Precious!

Then Tyler became concerned that Abby would fall so he was holding her in place while she looked out the window.

Sweet boy :)

Some of Tyler's new words:
  • Snow (n-OH)
  • Please (pweees)
  • Boppy (Poppy)
  • Woof, woof (dog barking) He often does this at the dinner table and it cracks Rolf and I up!
  • Boot
  • Shoe
  • This isn't something he's saying but something I've noticed lately. He is starting to get moles! The other night I was scrubbing and scrubbing trying to get some dirt off of his hand only to realize that it was a new mole. It's weird....like they pop up over night! He has one on the back of his neck too. They are small but I find it weird that I never noticed he didn't have any until he started getting some.
I feel like I've been in a blogging slump lately. Heck, I've been in a slump for everything lately. I've been feeling pretty crummy for the past several months (well, since February really) and it's frustrating. We have done many tests to figure out what's wrong with my stomach, weight loss, not able to eat, full feeling, etc. and so far nothing has come up. I'm grateful that nothing severe has surfaced but I'm ready for some answers. The lack of energy with a toddler is no fun! Not only because he is a busy little guy but I want to do things with him and don't have the energy. I'm going for another scan in the morning of my gallbladder...please pray this is a step closer to figuring out what this annoying issue is and I can get to feeling like my old self. I never really write stuff like this on my blog but I feel like my posts have been lacking lately and this is why....I just haven't felt like it. :(

On a lighter note....
We did have a really funny thing happen when I was coming out of anesthesia last week from my endoscopy. I had to fill out some ultrasound papers so Rolf and my Mom were helping me and there was a question asking if you were pregnant and if you had taken a test lately. They automatically circled no and I (in my EXTREMELY groggy/doped state) said, "yes I have." I think they thought I was joking until I told them that I didn't want to be one of those girls on MTV starring on "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant." They both laughed their butts off at my comment but I wasn't lying! I had been feeling sooooo bad...I knew for a fact that I wasn't preggo but I wasn't going to be "one of those girls on TV!" Can we say random?! I wasn't planning on sharing that minor detail of this feeling bad adventure but oh well! Luckily I didn't have any other secrets to share that day or they would have definitely found out! ha!

Texas Holiday

aka the start of hunting season! I'm not lying....that's what it's called around our house. lol!

This weekend we celebrated the holiday with a trip to the farm. Of course the little man is still too small to sit in the deer stand with Daddy but it won't be long I'm sure! Tyler did spot some deer this weekend though...training him early I guess. Here are some fun pictures from the weekend.

It was chilly out!! Finally some Fall weather!

Driving his Kubota and holding the 4-wheeler key...important business.

And he's off...

I still can't believe he likes to get in his walker...cracks me up!!

There is no way this is comfortable!

I wish this picture wasn't blurry. Tyler has recently started sitting in the old school bench at the farm. This was the school bench that was in my grandmother's school house when she was little! It even has engraving on the desk part where kids used to etch the wood. It really has a lot of meaning and is such a neat piece of furniture!

"Pea boo" (peek-a-boo is one of our favorite games now and I love hearing Tyler say "Pea boo!")

Farm bath! It's been awhile since I snapped a picture of Tyler in the sink at the farm. Crazy to think how small he was during his first farm bath at 2.5 weeks old and now he's practically outgrown the sink!

Little tushy...hehe.

Dressed and ready for another day!

Waiting for Daddy to get back from the deer stand. So sweet. :)

"Bite!"

Breakfast #2

Silly boy in NaNee's crocs

Did I mention that he loves his Kubota?!

Watching Daddy shoot his gun down at the lake. He kept saying "boom."

It was a fun weekend!

Just for the record....there IS a Texas Holiday for women too...it begins the day after Thanksgiving when the men are at the deer lease. ;)
