Decorating!

We started decorating last weekend and Tyler was SOOO excited!  When I think about all of the work that's involved with decorating I cringe but the moment I see Tyler's excited face it really gets me in the spirit!  Kids make Christmas SO special.

Tyler has been dying to go into the attic.  I don't know what the fascination is but we've never let him up there.  Last Sunday we decided he could come up and he was thrilled.  He brought his gun "just in case we see a rat and need to shoot it!"  Rolf had to carry the pistol and Tyler had the shot gun. HA!!!

He was fascinated with the dirty attic.  It's the little things in life, clearly!

Our first order of business was Tyler's tree.  I put the lights on and he did the rest!  He was so proud, as he should be!  We even have tractor lights on there!

Tyler hasn't seen our advent house since he was 2.5 because we didn't decorate last Christmas because of the house disaster so he was pumped up when I pulled it out of the closet.  Honestly, I don't think he remembered many of the decorations because each one received an excited "WOW Mom, look at this!"  I loved every minute of it!

We have a little collection of musical toys that I leave on the hearth area for Tyler.  He listens to them every night and morning.

Pointing out which stocking is his!

He seriously uttered the words "Mom, no more pictures" and then proceeded to put his hand on his head just like this.........HA!

Here's a little video of Tyler with his musical village.
We are really getting into the Christmas spirit now!!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today I'm thankful for the many blessings I've received in my life.  I'm thankful for family, friends, health, a nice home (that's not moldy anymore!), a good job and most importantly.....the little ninja below!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hard Head

The other weekend I walked into the creek bathroom and Tyler was using weed eater string pretending like he was a "hard head"   (for those that's don't know, a hard head is a saltwater fish that has "whiskers" like a catfish)

This made me laugh so hard!

Creative, funny, and totally random!

Creek Visit

Last weekend we had Oma and Opa down to the creek for a little delayed birthday fishing trip/present for Opa.  We had such a nice time!!

My little fisher boy.

He was looking out for the porpoises.  "I'm gonna catch one with dis fishin pole!"

The fishing wasn't very good but Opa did bring in a few fish.

Action's action!

Very silly 4 year old!
It was a nice, relaxing weekend!  (minus the stupid mosquitoes!)

I killed this monster mosquito in our kitchen Saturday night.  That is a regular sized spoon.....

Mikayla's 8th Birthday!

Last Sunday we celebrated Mikayla's 8th birthday at a gymnastics place!  We had SO much fun!!  The guy that ran our little group did a fabulous job with all of the kiddos.

Happy birthday sweet girl!

Present time!

Side story: Tyler and I brought Daleigh with us to the party so her Mommy could work on her big girl room and Tyler was such a protective "big brother."  He was helping her and watching her closely.  It was so cute.  Here he is keeping an eye on her making sure she doesn't give her present to Mikayla one minute too soon....ha!

Happy kids!
We had a great time! Thanks for inviting us, Mikayla!!

Just because......take a walk down memory lane with me!

Country Singer

Here are a few videos I've taken of our little country singer the past few weeks.  He cracks me up!

Phone Dump

Here are a few pictures from the last several weeks!

We started this particular morning with Tyler dressing himself, loading his gator and giving me this look when I said it was time to leave for school.  ha!

Helping Daddy and Poppy "change dem Ranger tires."

The other weekend we went to the police and fire station open house.  Carolyn and Tyler loved the Sheriff's horse!

Homemade trailer made this boy REALLY happy!  He gets frustrated that he can't "back dat trailer up good" but he's working on it.  ha!

I took a close up of the tool bench because Tyler strapped it to the passenger seat handle after it fell out several times. Pretty smart little booger.

One night (Halloween to be exact) I was trying to get dinner going so we could rush out the door and trick or treat and I noticed Tyler on the side of the house.  He was filling his gator with muddy muck and was SO proud of himself.  This probably wouldn't have been *that* big of a deal except he was a mess and we were in a hurry!

He wasn't too happy when I made him dump it out.

One morning this week Tyler was mad at me (because I made him wear a jacket in 30* weather...the shame!) so he hid the entire way to school.  I don't like when our mornings start like this but it sure made me laugh when I turned to see this site.......

The next pictures deserve their own post but here is a little preview.  One of the owners at my new job asked me to go on a short business trip with him.  The fun part?  HE flies us to our destination.  It was a short 28 minute plane ride to New Braunfels...ha!  It's a pretty neat/new perk that I definitely didn't get to experience at my old job.
