Halloween Family Fun Night

I've had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to dedicate one night for a little Halloween fun with the kids.  It's so easy to get caught up in the evening routine and before we know it the year has passed, so this weekend I decided Monday night was going to be Halloween Family Fun Night!

I broke up with Pinterest about a year ago (hahaha) but every once in awhile I'll let myself venture to the site for a very specific search.  Darn you Pinterest!! Sunday I picked a few semi-homemade ideas that I thought the kids would enjoy. (that wouldn't be Pinterest fails!).

We got home and got right to business!

We had Halloween music going and were having the best time!  Tyler was SO into the activities and that made it even more fun!

Candy Corn Fruit

Ghost cheese

Dancing with his one-eyed ghost.  He was cracking me up with his moves!

So much fun with my big boy!  (Hailey parked herself in the high chair with a snack and that worked out well.)

Tyler's pizza started as a mummy but then turned into "Hairy" Potter.  He also made some small ghosts with gummy worms on the top.  GAG!

More dancing!  So fun!

Frankenstein

Table set!  Waiting on Daddy!

Daddy's home!  Time to get this party started with some green gummy worm punch!

Pumpkin carving after dinner.  Note to self- invest in some carving tools because these massive knives make me nervous (and are hard as heck to use)!

Our favorite part- digging out the guts!

More dancing- Amazon Kids' Halloween channel for the win!

Meanwhile, Hailey was perfectly content in the high chair transferring her leftover food from one cup to the other.  Whatever works!

We had such a GREAT night!!
One funny I want to remember from the night was when Rolf saw the ghosts we cut out of cheese and called them feet.  WHAT?!  They're ghost!!  At one point during dinner I lost it into a hysterical fit of laughter when I realized the cookie cutter was in fact a baby's foot.  Foot-ghost-whatever!! LOL!!

Weekend Happenings

Friday morning started off at Donuts with Dad for Tyler!  He was excited to "be the first one to the book fair" that morning.

Friday afternoon vibes.  "I cover up."

Tyler had a Halloween party in his after school program so I picked him up late, per his strict instructions, and then it was off to Academy to find some warm hunting clothes.

He also tried to con me into buying him this "really cool trampoline chair, Mom."

Also, Rolf broke the cardinal rule of toddler raising and let Hailey's feet touch the ground in the store....noooo!!!
I like to say it's a joke but in reality, I'm totally serious about this rule.  ;-p
I have a rule that my toddler's feet cannot touch the floor in a store until they're 3+.  It's silly but I have to teach them to ride in the buggy, especially when I'm by myself!  I swear it works because my 8 year old still prefers to ride in the buggy over walking!!! HAHA!!

Friday night we put the kids to bed and watched the Astros.  I sported my new anti-glare glasses thanks to the insane headaches and dizziness I've been experiencing lately.  I think I have an inner ear infection and sitting in front of a computer for 8+ hours a day certainly doesn't help!!

Saturday morning smiles!  Closed eye toddler smiles are so funny!

It was COLD outside! Tyler rode his bike in full camo that morning.

Miss. Priss

Another hand-me-down pair of boots!

I had to run into Wal-Mart and Tyler brought his money for the claw machine on the way out.  (It's hard for me to let him spend his money on these machines!!)

Saturday afternoon the boys took off for the farm for a little target practice and in hot pursuit of a deer for youth weekend.  They didn't see much but they still had fun!

Toddler silliness with her baby and Halloween décor.

....and another adorable pair of shoes from friends!  (so thankful for these hand-me-downs!)

Sunday I woke up in a complete medicine fog so Hailey and I parked it on the couch most of the morning.

Pose with your flowers!

This is such a fun toy/activity!

Saturday afternoon R dropped Tyler off at a party and I took Hailey to cousin Carolyn's party.  She was shy at first but once she started jumping there was no looking back!

...and just like that we're back to Monday.  (and my new glasses)
