Hunting Season
Friday, September 28, 2012
Hunting season is upon us and T-man is not happy about it...ha! He doesn't like that he has to stay home with "da women" while the men go hunting. "I am not staying home with da women. I am goin' huntin' with da men!"
I think next year he'll be old enough to at least go on a few trips but this year it's home with Mommy. We had the Ranger in the driveway this week and Tyler was happy about that! He spent an entire evening "loadin' dat rangerrr for hunting dis weekend."
Wheelbarrow, trailer, tools, gun.....
He insisted that his tool bench be strapped to the front.
Dancin'
Rolf called me yesterday when he was pulling into the gate and told me that Tyler's gun rode on the Ranger seat all the way to South Texas. oops. Tyler had a 5 minute conversation with Daddy last night making sure he knew where his gun was, not to lose it, put it in the truck, don't shoot it, etc. lol!

3.5 Years Old!
Tuesday, September 25, 2012
Tyler turns 3.5 years old today!! He is quite the little man these days!
My favorite thing Tyler's doing right now is singing along to the radio. We mostly listen to country music and there's just something hilarious about hearing your 3 year old pick up the words, "I Did it For the Girl (rubin' up on me ;-p ) Beer Money, Pontoon, I'm Hard to Love", etc. Of course he doesn't know what he's singing about but it's so funny to listen to! Maybe we should get some kid CD's? nah.......
Here are a few pictures from the weekend. My big 3.5 year old!
"Mommy, take a pi-chure of me and my truck goin' campin."
Rolf showed the above picture to a friend and they said, "WOW, is that the floor in your house? Is it stained concrete? It looks awesome!?!" Um yeah...no.
Cowboy Pirate!
This is Tyler's "big boy" watch and it is not a toy. (he is very serious about this watch and tells everyone that he got it at dollar tree and it's not for little kids, only big people.)
Dress up with Mommy at dinnertime.
Construction Pirate anyone?!
The hard AND FUN age is quickly passing by!
Touch A Truck
Monday, September 24, 2012
This weekend my Mom and I took Tyler to the neatest preschool fundraiser called "Touch A Truck." He had a blast and we did too! There were tractors, rangers, gators, classic cars, fire trucks, 18 wheelers, trash trucks, etc.
The new big boy gatorrrrr
Sno Cone to cool off....it was SO hot!
Rolf went dove hunting and they had quite the weekend!
Meanwhile, Sunday morning I decided to get my butt in gear and clean the front two rooms. Since we removed the carpet (and had the stupid asbestos issue which caused this room to be jam packed with all living room and kitchen contents) back in early May, I haven't paid much attention to these rooms. Most of the time I'd walk in there, get overwhelmed (and mad) and walk right out...ha! I haven't put many decorations back out because it all has to be moved again in the future so they have stayed piled on the table. We're hoping we get the all clear from the foundation company SOON to begin sheet rock repairs and flooring. It's been almost 6 months and I'm SO over the concrete. These pictures make the rooms look nicer than they really looked....
Ta-da! All contents have been packed (from the cabinets too) and put on shelves in the garage. We have major repairs in these rooms (along with knocking down the two half walls) so most everything needed to be removed.
Meanwhile, Tyler destroyed the rest of the house. Notice the little indian running to destroy something else in this picture....
I cleaned the rest of the living room later in the day. It's as good as she's gonna get until after the repairs!
School Days
Thursday, September 20, 2012
Tyler is LOVING school again this year and we are so happy that he is able to go 3 days a week! Ms. Susan and Ms. Amy are wonderful and send weekly emails (with pictures!) letting us know what the children learned that week. I especially enjoy the emails since I don't actually go to the school for drop-off and pick-up. It's a nice way to stay connected. :)
Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks....
Group eating lunch, Tyler on the far left by his "girlfriend," Brookie.
Centers....the girls with the blocks and Tyler with the necklace....I love it!
Music! Tyler doesn't give me many details about school but he does tell me he LOVES music class!
I zoomed in on the picture above because T is SO happy!
Group picture on the playground! (T on the bottom right in orange)
Bless those teachers (and ALL teachers) for having the patience that they do!!
A few funnies from Mr. T this week....
- Tyler doesn't know his colors very well (maybe not at all) but I have figured out that red means blue, blue means red, yellow means green and green means yellow. (and I wonder why I'm a bit nutty!!) This morning he brought a ball to Ms. A's and told her, "I brought a blue ball to play with outside today!" The ball is red........blue means red. Fast forward to this morning at work when I'm checking the school calendar (to see what I need to bring on Friday) and I noticed that the colors this month are blue and red. Clearly the color lessons aren't registering with Mr. T!!!
- Tyler told me the other night, "You get a milkshake after dinner because you were a good girl at work today. Do you know how I know you were a good girl?" No, why? "I called Ms. Kirsten and she said you were a good girl, yay Mommy!" haha!!! I love it!
Little Booger
Friday, September 14, 2012
*this post is gross*
Last night as I was getting Tyler ready for bath I noticed him do a flyby swipe on the wall near the toilet in his bathroom. I thought it was strange but went about my business until a few "wall ornaments" caught my eye. It quickly dawned on me that this area was his booger dumping ground. Um what??? GROSS. One was dried...........and it peeled the paint off the wall when I removed it! ahhhh!
I think this is just the beginning of the "boy bathroom" and that scares me! I asked Tyler what made him put his boogers on the wall and he said, "my nose." oh geez!!
Boogers on the wall, who me?!
It's been a challenging week in 3 year old ville but we're working through it. It's such a love/dislike age! Nothing can prepare you for the 3's!
Here are some funnies I had stored on my phone....
- Rolf told Tyler he got his sweet tooth from his Mommy and he said, "when did I do dat?!" ha!
- I lost my voice a couple weeks ago and was forced to whisper. Apparently Tyler thought he had to whisper when he talked to me and one day he said, "when can we stop being so quiet?!" lol!
- On the way to school the other day Tyler said, "you see des hands and arms? They are too small so when Christmastime comes around we need to get rid of dem and ask for bigger ones. Santa might bring me dat." Why do you want bigger hands and arms? "So I can BBQ with Poppy."
- Tyler has mastered climbing the cyclone fence in our backyard. Our neighbor brought him to the fence the other night because he climbed over and went to visit without us even knowing. (we were unloading the truck from the creek). Oh lordy.....
- We still have concrete floors at the house (only a couple more months!!) and the other night Tyler asked me "Mommy, why do we all have to wear our shoes in de house?"
Happy Friday!
First Day of School 2012!
Thursday, September 6, 2012
Tyler started the Preschool 3 program at church yesterday! He has been missing "church school" all summer but lately he's been telling me, "I'm not going. I'm going to the old class." Yesterday morning wasn't any different but he had a million other excuses. She the videos below....
"Maybe Molly can watch me......I have a fever...."
"I think Bailey can watch me...."
Crazy kid!
I took the day off to take him on his first day! We did our first homework assignment during breakfast. Tyler wasn't too pleased to have to be coloring instead of riding his gatorrrr.
Doesn't he look thrilled?! ha! Such a difference between girls and boys! (I MADE him write my name on the "this is my family" page. He wanted Daddy and Tyler only. Notice he picked yellow for my color. whatEVER!)
I got some stickers out and that made him a little happier to be doing "homework."
Me: Tyler let's get your picture!
Tyler: Wait, I have back my gatorrr up in da right spot before we take da picture.
Cheese!
Tyler is very proud of his new water cup!
Such a big boy!
This is the last picture I took before shoving Tyler in the door while he was crying. Ugh! I stayed and chatted with my friend for a bit and less than 10 minutes later T was happy and playing. I knew he would love it!
For comparison sake, here is the first day of school last year!
Tyler did NOT want to leave school when I went back to pick him up, of course! I waited until he was the very last kid (while watching every single kid run happily and hug their parents!) and we finally bribed him out of the room with a smelly sticker. Little stinker!
Ms. Susan said Tyler had a great first day and even saw his best friend from last year, Colin, on the playground. :)
I'm so excited for preschool and I know Tyler is going to have a great year! I'll miss dropping him off and picking him up but am thankful that Ms. Andrea can do it for me!
