Friday Phone Dump

Long weekend ahead...woohoo!!!  Here are a few random pictures from the past couple of weeks.

New school year means new shoes for the little guy.  He's getting so big!

How did my child's feet grow this much since the end of March?!!
(I'd also like to make a mental note of just how gross Velcro is for kid shoes...blech.)

You know how "they" say you're gonna miss this?  Well, I can honestly say I will not miss having a bathroom companion.  ha!  I thought I would be smart and set T up with a new ipad game just so I could have a few minutes.  Smart little booger loved the idea of a new game IN the bathroom with Mom.  LOL!

Last Thursday night my childhood friends, Rachel and Kam, and I spent 4 hours catching up over dinner.  It's so fun to see them and we always pick up right where we left off!

Tyler found an old throw away camera in the junk drawer of our kitchen and was snapping away all week.  I'm going to get the film developed just for fun...hehe.

Tyler had his second visit to the dentist this week (it's really his 3rd but he was sick last time so I had my teeth cleaned while he cried.) He did great and they told us we're doing a great job brushing.  I thanked the hygienist because I was seriously starting to question how well I was *really* doing after my kid thrashes, screams, runs, you know....  Brushing teeth isn't one of our favorite activities!

This next picture is to purely document that Kirsten and I have officially lost all crafting ability.  To say we're still finding our new normal after starting new jobs would be an understatement.  Our brains are fried!
We were at HL during lunch one day last week gathering supplies for a project and we couldn't for the life of us figure out the measurements.  Two people and 3 calculators later we threw in the towel after the fabric lady rounded the corner and said, "ladies, it's half off...just buy all of it and be done."  ha!

Last but not least, we had meet the teacher yesterday for Tyler's last year of preschool.  How did that happen?!  He was so cute getting "all dressed up to see my best friend Jackson W."  He picked out his clothes all by himself and made sure to accessorize with his sunglasses.  So cute.  We are looking forward to a great year!!

No camp, no problem.

We had to break the news to the little guy that we weren't going to make our annual camping trip this year.  We are bummin' pretty hard but Mommy is worried about the low water levels, lack of water flow and possible bacteria (call me crazy but I would be the one to catch something!)

Tyler seemed to take the news in stride (he was SOO excited to go) after we agreed to set his tent up in the driveway.  HA!!
It was SO hot outside on Sunday but T didn't care, he was "campin'!"

I captured a little video of him dancing in his tent.  The boy knows all of the words to most of Jason Aldean's songs.  Cracks me up!

Weekend

We had a pretty low-key creek weekend with some cute little boy play.

Saturday morning Tyler called me in his room and said "take our picture, Mom!"  He set his "Mimis" up on his top bunk...precious!

Tyler is very excited about his top bunk at the creek.  Our house came with the bunk bed but Tyler was just a little over a year old when we bought the place and we weren't too excited about our one year old climbing to the top bunk.  Three years later we finally got the ladder out of the closet and let him climb/sleep up there and he thinks he's king!  Anyone that visits has to come see him "climb on my top bunk!"

Tyler and Fritz playing T's "kindle."  (Notice Fritz's diaper...ha!)

Cool dude with his crew of "Mimis."  (diapered, of course!)

Our fire station had an open house on Saturday so we took Tyler to see the "new" fire trucks, eat hot dogs, ride the tractor barrels, and gather some fire goodies.  He had a great time!

If you live on the gulf coast this is a familiar scene but it's a big joke at the creek because the "mosquito man" always ALWAYS always comes when you're just getting dinner finished up on the pit.  It baffles me that we STILL have mosquitoes (or anything for that matter!) left after this powerful fog sweeps through our area.  Just another Sat night ;-p
For the record: we don't stand outside to "enjoy" the fog....we run like maniacs yelling "mosquito man" in a low, creepy voice laughing hysterically.  Every.single.time.  We had friends visiting from KS and I do believe this was the "highlight" of their trip.  LOL!  Welcome to Sargent!

Saturday night we did a little "hunting" on the county road.  Tyler had his gun "just in case we see dat raccoon."

One of Tyler's best buds, Charlie, rode in the "berry, berry back" and hunted with him.  They each had their own gun.  Too cute!

Buddies discussing their hunting strategy.  hehe.

Tyler played fireman all morning on Sunday.  He drove around the house making siren sounds and "shooting dat fire wit my big ol' water hose!"

What's not pictured is the pencil and paper he used to "write da details of dat fire down."  ha!  I just love his imagination!
We had a nice weekend!

Fisher Boy

Tyler was quite the fisher boy this weekend!  He went with the men both days and was fired up.  Tyler woke up bright and early (before 5:30) Sunday morning, looked out the window and yelled, "Mom, der still here...I gotta go!"  (the men were down catching bait and loading the boat...little man was NOT going to miss out!"

Tyler loved his "umbrella tent."

They had quite the haul both days.  Here is their Sunday catch!

Tyler sees the men wearing these gloves to clean fish so he insisted on wearing them for the picture and to "help put all dos fish in dat ice chest."  (these gloves smell SOO bad!)

Picking up slippery fish attempt #1

Whoops, back down...

Tyler had help from Daddy with this trout.

Attempts #2-50...

Whoops, slipped again!  (ha!)

Determined little German.

Watching Daddy "go crazy on dat jet ski!"

Papaw eye on the princess bike.

Silly little swimmer boy!

We had a great weekend!

Yardwork Helper

Our yard needed some serious help after all of the house mess last year.  Shrubs can only handle being uprooted so many times and between the foundation, new windows, etc., our yard was a mess!  I finally sucked it up and decided last Sunday morning was time to get out there.  I told Tyler we were going to work in the yard and he said, "Oh, yay...I love weeds!"  ha!

Tyler really was a good helper, cute too!

"Mom, I'll knock this weed down with my shovel."

Chainsaws are the best hedge trimmers...

A couple hours into our work, Tyler declared he was "tired of dis" and proceeded to drag the majority of his inside toys outside.  Oh the mess!

This is only a fraction of what we pulled out and bagged up.  Tyler and I rocked it!  (daddy wasn't home and was quite surprised when he did get home!)
Now to tackle the backyard...blech!
