Park Fun

We are in desperate need of a change in routine from rushing home from work/school to homework, cooking and chores.  I'm seriously over it!  Wednesday night I decided "forget the routine, we're going to the park!"  I picked the kids up and we drove straight to the park.  We had the BEST time!  It was a great change of pace and gave me a much needed boost to finish the rest of the week on a high note.

Tyler especially loved the park idea.  We played on the playground for awhile and then sat at the dog park watching all the cuties.

Hailey had a big night: her first swinging adventure!

She loved it!  Look at those skinny little legs dangling.  She was kicking up a storm!

"Mom, put Hailey in the swing next to me!"

Look at him looking at her.  So sweet!

Little baby in a big ol' swing.
If only every night could start like this!!

Write a story they said....

1st grade brings a lot of changes in the homework department and one of the biggest parts is writing what the teachers call "personal narratives."  I think we all know Tyler isn't lacking in the personal narrative department so when he read me the story he wrote during Club Rewind last night I nearly fell over with laughter.

Tyler has come a long way with his writing but here's the translation just in case you aren't well versed in 1st grade:
I went to the deer lease.  I shot pigs.  My dad hit the pigs.  My dad hit two pigs at a time.  One fell down.  Then we hit two little pigs.,  Then I gave my dad a high five.  One did not roll over so we got out of the deer stand.  We went over to the pig.  My dad took a shot at the pigs.  Then we loaded the pigs in the back of the ranger.  Then we went to the house.

The picture is funny to me too!  Deer stand, deer feeder and little pigs laid out all over the place.  HAHA!

Here are a few pictures that go along with the story (from last weekend at the deer lease).

I hope the teacher receives the story well (and with humor like we do) because in this day and age you never know....  I'm not sure how many 1st graders are talking about hunting but Tyler is very serious about it!

Phone Dump!

Random post ahead!

Tyler finished his swim lessons after two years of going every week.  We are so proud of how far he's come and were very pleased with our facility!  I was going to stop going in May after Hailey was born but Tyler was so excited to be moved to the next level that we kept it going through the summer.  Once I went back to work it was harder to get us there on a Monday night, keep up with homework (and one tired boy!) and just the everyday demands that come with life!  We'll be back for Hailey's turn before we know it!

My happy girl before drop off at Ms. Andrea's one morning.  I wrote a short blurb on facebook about it breaking my heart to drop this happy girl off in the mornings because by the time I get to her at night she's tired and grumpy (aren't we all!).  I try to treasure every evening with my kids but dang it goes so fast!!

Tyler eats breakfast in bed (with an ipad show) before school and has been requesting 12 waffles each morning.  The boy can eat!!

We ran to lunch super quick one day to get Tyler's pizza costume.  I didn't realize there were different sizes so I modeled it to find the right fit.  Kirsten was so kind to snap this photo of me...haha.

Costume fits but he wouldn't model it for me for longer than 3 seconds!  Little stinker!

I love walking through the living room and noticing funny things about Tyler's pretend play.....

Hailey is getting long!  It's almost time to move the wipe box off the changing table.

Pumping is a lot of work but seeing the fruits of my labor at the end of the day is awesome!  I texted this picture to Kirsten and we both did a happy dance.

Rolf brought home a massive trailer to haul some medal to the farm.  Tyler's 4-wheeler also needed to be hauled to the farm that weekend so you know he was FIRED UP about his toy riding on "dat big ol' trailer!"

One Thursday night Tyler came home and said he "paid 20 tiger bucks to bring a stuffed animal to school."  I sure wish they would send home a note to let me know if this was true or not!!  I decided to believe him (he was right!) and let him take an animal to school.  He picked his best bud, Pluto.

Just a boy and his favorite animal walking into school.  He's growing so fast on us!

Little cowgirl at Kinley's party.

Just down the road from the party was a beautiful sandy area along the San Jacinto river so we decided to take a stroll.  It was a gorgeous day!  Tyler might be frowning (on purpose!) but at least I have a picture with me and both kids!

Last Monday Ms. Andrea texted that she was sick so I had to pack Hailey up and take her to work with me.  I love my little office mate!

My parents celebrating my dad's 33 years of service and retirement!!

Ms. A texted me this picture last Friday with the caption "just chillin' in Ms. A's lap."  Hand behind her head...ha!

My Mom texted me these pictures from Wednesday afternoon during playtime.  Tyler fixed this area up for Hailey before we left for school that morning, so sweet.

That moment when you realize your son took over your camera phone.....ha!

I saved one picture from that entire batch.

Donuts with Dad!!  Could Tyler's smile be any bigger?!  He was SO happy that Daddy was going to school with him that morning.  Too sweet!

I had no idea Tyler was taking pictures but sometimes those are the funniest...

Spit up is the new accessory.

I love looking out the kitchen window seeing Tyler "shooting" random things.  Two guns, just in case.  HA!

Swinging between two tall kitchen surfaces.  I SO remember doing this as a kid too!

Nighty Night sweet girl :)
